The lamp that went out too fast...

You had dreams, yet you couldn't get them..
Somewhere you were a mother's pet, a daddy's girl, a brother's pet, a young mans life...
Where were the feminists, the guards of the society when the monsters came??
The plans you had, the dreams you wove, where the all worthless in front of one man's greed??

Was the life of a woman so cheap?
Did she not deserve to live, to achieve, to win???
Did she not deserve to go with dignity??
And even after this, are we going to keep quite??

Are we going to just go forward with life??
Pretend that nothing has happened??
That this cannot affect us??
RIP Soumya..May your soul attain peace...

Brother or Sister???..I say BOTH!!!!!!!!! :)

A few days back, in college, we were all sitting together and talking, y'know, the post-lunch-nothing-else-to-do kinda talk, and the talk turned to siblings. Me being the only one in the group with both a brother and a sister, they finally turned to me for a decision on which was better. Since I love lists, let me tell you all what I told them.Point by point.
(I'll just write a few of the important ones)

Brother
Advantages:
1. You get THE best gifts. (my costliest watch, dress etc are all from my brother:))
2. You can sneak all the cool stuff away from his room, he'll know you took it and still won't say a word.
3. You get things done that you know parents won't allow.
4. When you get too full of yourself, there's no one like your brother who will bring you down.
5. You get a lift to wherever you want to go.
6. He'll tell you "It's not healthy" and still buy you dinner from a restraunt.
7. You get the greatest advice on academic stuff.

Sister
Advantages:
1. You'll have a best friend forever.
2. You get ready made advice for everything ranging from earrings to how-to-pass-your exams
3. You always have someone to do all your projects and assignments(with a little bit of wheedling, of course)
4. Someone you can cry, crib and gossip to.
5. Someone to have pillow fights with.
6. Once she gets married, you get all her cool stuff.
7. Your sister's baby (this is explained in this post)

Disadvantages for both of them:
1. No matter whatever you wear, you still "look like a joker" to them.
2. Sarcasm.
3. Whatever you score in your exams, it's always "THAT'S what you got???"
4. You have to run all their errands, and still hear "can't you do something useful?"
5. You'll always be "little girl"
6. You cant cry in front of them.

Insurance in case my bro or sis reads this post: :)
I've just added the one's I thought interesting enough. I love both of 'em and Thank you for all the assignments, projects and advices you've done for me:))
